United Way is working to advance the common good. We focus our efforts in three impact areas: Education, Self-Sufficiency and Health. These are the building blocks of a good life: Equipping people with the tools to reach their full potential, empowering them to live independently, and promoting health and healing.
The goal of United Way is create long-lasting change and prevent problems from happening in the first place. We seek to create opportunities for a bettter life for all, because when you reach out a hand to one, you can influence the condition of all. That's what it means to "Live United"
When you support United Way, you help the people who need it the most. United Way, along with it's 28 agency partners continually monitor the needs of the community and address them with specialized programs. And you can count on your money being spent wisely; over 125 local volunteers serve on our allocation panels to determine the distribution of funds. Plus, your gift stays right here in Midland County. touching the lives of our neighbors.
Because of our community's generous support and committment to those in need, we raised $4,849,115 in 2009.
